Hey Ladies!
- I know most of you ladies have heard of the Revlon color stay
foundations. Right? As you all may know they come in two different
formulas one for Normal/Dry skin and the other for Combination/Oily
skin. If you’ve been following my blog for a while now you may have
noticed that I have completely switch from using my MAC Studio Tech
Foundation in NC50 to just using the Revlon ColorStayin
Carmel 400 for combination/oil skin. I’ve been using this foundation
for almost a year now. & I just realized that I have yet to do a
review on it! So I figured why not do one now.
- my thought: First off let me just start off by saying I absolutely love this foundation. Before I use to think that I would never be able to wear drugstore foundations because of my skin tone. A lot of drugstore brand out either don’t have a foundation for women of color & if they do they don’t really have many in our color range. I got lucky with Revlon in the colorStay line.

Although they only carry two colors for WOC I got lucky and ended up being the second to last shade. The coloring of this foundation is almost a perfect match to my skin once it dries and settles into my skin. At first I was a little skeptical about it the foundation because I thought that it would be way too light for me and the other color shade mahogany was too red and dark for me, but it all worked out in the end. When I was using my mac foundation I use to always found myself with acne on my skin after using it, but with the Revlon ColorStay I almost never got a break out from it.
I personally like full coverage make up so that was the only thing that I really liked about my Mac foundation, but the ColorStay foundation is medium to full coverage so I can get the full coverage look that I like. The only thing that I don’t really like about the foundations is that it doesn't come with a pump, so I have to pour out the foundation which can be a waste of product if too much is used. Another thing that I don't like is that the foundation tends to dry really fast so you have to blend quickly because if you don't the finished look will come out splotchy, but over time I’ve become use to working with the foundation so blending is easy for me now. I just simply apply the foundation with a wet cosmetic sponge then using my stippling brush I buff/blend out the foundation into my skin and I get a beautiful flawless finish.
Another thing that I love about this foundation is that it last all day on my skin and I don’t have to set it with a powder! I have extremely oily skin and usually when I wear foundation it gets really greasy and I have to constantly blot my face, but with the ColorStay I hardly ever have to do that especial if I have a primer under it. Overall this is my favorite foundation and I have yet to find another drugstore foundation that I like better than the Revlon ColorStay!
My favorite foundation hands down!
