Skin Care: Aztec Secrets Indian Healing Clay (Calcium Bentonite Clay)

From dealing with acne to overly oily skin, and extremely clogged pores. I can easily say I've had a lot of  downs when it comes to my skin . Now that I'm older I've decide to focus more on my skin care regiment. I dealt with acne for all of my teen life and it wasn't until I was in my 20's that I could say I semi-acne free. To have a perfectly flawless face I found myself grabbing for any full coverage foundation w/ a heavy concealer to match. I still have a huge love for make up and I find myself purchasing new product on the regular, but in the last year 1/2 I been shying way from Cake face look. Now and day find myself wearing powders and maybe a lipstick or no make up at all. Yes I said it NONE as a matter of fact I can say for the last six months I've haven't worn make up for about 98% of the time. Scary I know, but a natural face make me feel comfortable. I like my skin and I'm happy with going through my day bare faced but I do have little imperfection that I would like to correct just to have that perfect skin finish.

I've never tried any at home face mask so after seeing one of my favorite instabeauties, @blu_scent rave about the healing clay I decide to run out and snag one from my local whole foods.

FAQ:

1.  Prices

For starters the Aztec Secrets Indian  Healing Clay fairly inexpensive it retails for $7.99 which in my opinion is great because it makes up to 1lb of clay that leads up to 15 facials and you only need a small amount .

2.  how does the Aztec Secrets Indian  Healing Clay work?

using NON-metallic implements mix 1:1 ratio of your clay with AC Vinegar or water. Apply the mixture to skin and let dry. 5-10min for sensitive skin 15-20min for normal . Cleanse with warm water.

My First Experience

For my first go around with the Bentonite clay  I cleansed my face prior to using the mixture. I didn't read any warning in the directions to not do so I did. I used my Black and white lightening soap just to get rid of any excess oily on my face. Mixing the concoction was a challenge for me because the product does insist on you not using any metal implements I choose to use a wooden stick. I'd suggest using a plastic whisk for an easy blend. The product didn't come with any measuring tools so I kind of eyeballed my mixture using water in a color bowl. After getting the consistency that I wanted I applied clay on my face using my hands. I ended up making to much so applied the leftover clay to my chest. I let the product dry for the full 20minutes. While letting the clay set I did notice a tingly sensation on my face (as stated on the product). It was slightly irritating, but it wasn't something I couldn't withstand it as if the product was sucking all the impurities from my pores as it dried. I also notice the am tightening in my skin as the water evaporated. Once the full 20 minutes elapsed I began to wrinkle my face to release the tightness then I washed away the leftover flakes with a warm wash clothes then I proceeded to remove the excess moisture from my face with a dry towel. Although my face was left smooth and soft after using the Bentonite mask it was a lot drier than normal so to rehydrate it I applied a small amount of virgin coconut oil .  As directed I will continue to use my clay once a week as apart of my regimen. I look forward to seeing smooth and supple skin!

November Manicure

Working in a salon can take a huge toll on your hands. You literately spend the day washing and disinfecting everything in between clients that they tend to get extremely dry and cracked from the lack of moisture. Within  the last few months I've invested my money into build myself a nail lacquer collection. I've spent some much of my money on lipsticks that my beauty kit lacks in other items. Now that I have a decent sized polish set I figure what better way to sport all my new babies by getting a fresh mani while also showing some TLC to my dehydrated palms.
I'm pretty decent when it comes to doing a basic manicure.
You push and nip your cuticles
shape your nails
one coat base
two coats polish
one coat top
and blah blah, but nothing is more appealing to than a nice set of long evenly shaped acrylics. I'd wear my natural nailsif they weren't so brittle, but they aren't so I opted for long "Squalmond" shaped nails. I'm not one for elaborate designs and gemstones so trying this shape help my nail understated but chic at the same time!

M.A.C. A Novel Romance

Boy have I been out of the lipstick loop. I haven't purchased any new lipsticks or make up in general since Pure Heroine. To be honest I have really haven't hauled anything since early summer when Playland released I don't know what it is but for some reason I haven't found myself in need of any new products that have come out. That was until I heard about ANR. I've been waiting weeks for the marge collection to drop that I completely skipped over this one I was almost at a loss luckily my mom told me about it so I  was able to get a few things before the online release was completely sold out!

I ended up going to the store release just to see if I would like any of the other shades. I was actually blow away by this collection which is a lot coming from me because I never just like everything in a collection. I only purchase the lipsticks from mac but I contemplated on get the some of the shadows as well! While there I found myself taken by Talk Sexy I don't wear Lip Glasses but I felt the need to grab this one simply because I have so may brass toned reds and mattes that I felt like it would be an asset to my collection. I've already started to pair this gloss with other product and I'm in love with it. I can see myself reaching for Talk Sexy whenever I want to do a little extra with my lips this Fall!

I don't have much to say about Linger Kiss and Hearts Aflame simple because they're Reds. You guys know how I feel about red lipstick. The way I see it you can never have to many and the darker the better! These lipstick are new to my red shades so I snag them they were my favorites in the collection and I got them without having seen them in person. I received them Monday evening and my judgement was right I absolutely love them and it helps that they're mattes.

Overall I'm happy with the collection now and days I see myself buying more essentials product than thing that I just want to try. You'll definitely see me sporting all these products this season !

Irrational Beauté: Day Time Rebel

I wear shimmer contours, dark lipstick in the summer, and I don't always wear matte shadows in my crease! When it comes to make up I tend to break all the rule in beauty standards. I don't typically plan out my looks so everything is random and spare of the moment. I feel like my creativity comes alive when I don't know what I'm doing and I'm just grabbing at products. I've finally discovered what types and shades of lip colors I'm drawn to. I'm a dark lippy kind of girl it's mid summer and I find myself reaching for deep plum, and wine lip colors instead of  magenta, and hot pinks. My latest lip must have is night moth lip pencil I find myself pairing it with nearly everything . At the moment my favorite combo is night moth pair with rebel.

Irrational Beauté: Brown Betty

This look was inspired by my irrepressible sweet tooth! One thing about me is that I love and crave everything sweet, sour, and salty, it's becoming an extreme addiction. One of my favorite dessert would have to be brown betty cake dessert. If you're unfamiliar with this dessert it just your basic yellow cake with brown sugar and pecan pralines topped of with vanilla ice drenched in chocolate syrup and a cherry to garnish ! A mouth full I know but this is something definitely worth a taste!

NAILS Sephora's OPI Be Claus I Said so over Mr. Right Know

I was getting tired of my Girl About Town lacquer. I loved the color but the look didn't last long the lacquer start to fade around the edges after a mere week. I couldn't bared to  keep looking at that worn out look so I ran to my local sallies and got some non acetone just to remove the polish and to keep my acrylics intact.  I had a little staining from the polish I'm assuming it was from not using a strong  remover, but I was okay with it because I was painting over it. I went through two looks before deciding on this on one a I think they came out well for my first attempt despite the fact that this paint job literately took ALL day!

What I used:

Sephora by OPI "Perfect Reds" Polish Set

Be Claus I Said   1 coat
 Mr. Right Know 2 coats

Fanta Sea Cosmetics
Top Coat

Castor Oil

  Acrylic Update:
My nails have slightly grown out so in a week or two I'll need another fill, which is expected . I'm  having slight lift. After I finish this DIY mani set I went to work the next morning can you  believe I chipped my right pinky nail it literally flipped of while I was trying grab a card. Needless to say these nails aren't the sturdiest, but hey you get what you pay for. Right? I'm expecting more to come off soon or maybe they'll hold up until next week. Either way I'll probably revisit the wally world salon you can't bet $12

My Mini Fragrance Collection

One thing you lovelies should know about me is that I am every in touch with the 5 sense. I love anything that feels good, taste, looks and most of all anything that smells good. I got a new project that I'm working on and its my non existing fragrance collection.  As women I'm overly obsessed with my scent and it's a requirement that I smell good. I've started a new ritual that after I shower it is my feminine duty to cloak myself in things that smell of sugar, spice and everything nice!  so after I bathe w/ cleansing soaps, floral scented shower gels I take things step further by throwing a variety fragrances into the mix.

Curious By Britney Spears

Like most 90's born girls my favorite pop star idle was Britney Spears so it shouldn't be a surprise that I own any of her fragrances. This definitely an oldie but goodie scent for me it was one the first perfumes that I owned . I remember being 13 years old and getting this in a holiday gift set from my mom. At the time that was when BJS obsession was at it's all time high.

Curious has is a little mature scent that I own and is definitely something that I use lightly and I do mean LIGHTLY! Curious is something scent wise is comparable to Elizabeth Taylor 's White diamond because it ha that slight musk smell but not to strong that it makes you smell like old lady. This was the first fragrance that I decided to grab because it reminded me of my youth I got this fragrance in 1 fl oz  or 30ml. I got it in the small size because this usually last me a really long time.

 Killer Queen by Katy Perry

I smelled this fragrance at sephora a while back and just knew I had to have the only down side was that the product was well over $50 and I haven't gotten that far into fragrance that I would fork over that much money for perfume. I got lucky at my job and found the full size 3.4 f oz 100ml for $35 excluding my 10%  employe discount for fragrances. I was obsessed with this scent for a while it was all I was wearing it was something about the sweet smell of wild berries that had me hooked. that was until my mother told me it smelled like tobacco then I stop using it. I still like it but I don't think I'll be repurchasing it because the full size will last me quite some time.

Hidden Fantasy by Britney Spears

I got this one after watching a Doll Face video on youtube. He was raving about all the fantasy scents so I just grab this one because in my opinion it seem like the most unique one in the series and hard to come by. HF is a very festive scent in opinion it smells like peppermint with the hint of citrus which is an odd combo, but at the same time it works. I got this in 1.7 fl oz 50ml just because I wanted to see if I would like it. I might get a bigger size once I run out but I'll only wear it in the fall/winter months.

Believe By Britney Spears

I got this fragrance because a customer recommended it to me. I saw her purchasing it and asked if it smelled nice. she sprayed her sample size for me and from there I was in love. This is my latest fragrance and can you believe that I'm nearly out off it! I've been wearing it everyday for the last month or two and it's just AMAZING. I obsessed with the sweet summer citrus scent and I can't believe that I only got it on 1.7 fl oz. I'm definitely get the full size bottle I don't know what I'll do once it's all gone.

Get Perfect Brow Definition with ABH Dip Brow Pomade

This is one of those product that I honestly needed in my make up kit and apart of my daily faces regiment. If you've noticed in my older MOTD Beauty posts my brows are very sparce until I started filling them in. Brow arching and sculpting has been one of those techniques that I've had to practice and prefect over the years. I've tried various products like the ELF brow kit, shadows, and several brands of pencils, but none of those products seemed to withstand the extreme Texas summer weather. Most time I would ended up with my brows being smeared from sweat within minute of me living the house.

After seeing some many amazing reviews over Anastasia Beverly Hill's brow products I instantly Knew that I had to have the Dip Brow. This product is everything that it is said to be an then some I was sold on the fact that it was water proof. Dip Brow comes in a variety of flattering color for, blonde, brunettes, and even red heads so it's fit for every race. Before purchasing Dark brown I was unsure of what products to get for my skin tone I was stuck in between getting Chocolate and Dark Brown initially, but after having my brows shaped and filled in I found that I could even go a shade darker with ebony. Needless to say I plan on purchasing all of the darker Dip brows and even the blonde and auburn for my make up kit. I truely believe that ABH is something that every women should be using !

Alluring Aquatic

So I've been waiting for this collection to drop for months now and what can I say I'm nothing but disappoint by this collection. Truthfully I would I have past all together on this AA, but after seeing the lovely packaging I knew that I had to walk  way with something. I mean who could resist that gorgeous rain drop embedded turquoise bullet despite unappealing products the packaging is very eye  catching, hints the name Alluring Aquatic!

I only watched one review prior to the store released and the one product that I knew I was going to get was the Clear Water lipglass. The name speaks for itself it a nice nude gloss but what made it desirable was that it was loaded with iridescent shimmer. One moment it appears as peachy nude, but under the right lighting you see all the eye catching lilacs and teals within the shimmers!

I would have felt incomplete I only left with a lip glass so I snagged the only lipstick that I felt would be flattering on me. Enchanted One is you're typical peachy matte nude nothing fancy, but I got it because it reminded me of my bad girl riri and I thought it would look nice with its sister lipglass plus it was matte. The only thing that I can say about this lippie is that I'll definitely need a liner for her I was thinking g of something like a red brown like spice lip liner!

Overall this collection was a disappointment for me. I don't think the other products were ebony girl friendly which is why I passed on them but MAC more than sold on the great packaging!

Does her nails match her LIPSTICK?

While I was browsing through my local mac counter as usual I came a cross some of their nail products
You would think after all these years of me buying MAC products I would know that sold matching nail laquers, glosses and polishes! Where have I been? under a rock apparently. I never get my nails done and my poor nail look piteful from my Onychophagia.... nail biting disorder. I practically bite them down to the numb skin included! Sickening.  I recently added Mac's Girl About Town Lipstick into my collection a few months back so when I realized they had a matching nail polish I new I had to grab it.

Imagine this you're out on the town with your girls in your little black dress hair curled and layed. Your face is beat to the gods with your hot pink lips and matching nails!

I don't know how MAC managed but these two products really are a set to match  and I for one am in love with this dou. I got my nails done at my local Walmart just for something cheap to try this look out I spent under 20. I got them short but next time around I think I want them long like really long or maybe I'll get claws!  I'm definitely feeling the mac polishes they are a little bit of a splurge item for $17 but I feel like I need to have the coordinating polish to my lippies. So stay tuned for more nail looks from me!

Lorde's M.A.C Lipstick, Pure Heroine

I'm not a huge fan of the new upcoming artist Lorde, but I do like her new lippie!
From what I know about her style wise she isn't your everyday girly girl that cakes on make up and falsies. To me Lorde has very relaxed casual look and it seem that she wears minimal to no make up.
In the last year Lorde's look has changed slightly but very noticeable. In my eyes she's gone from being this wild care free girl to being that exact same girl with just a little more GLAM, which I love btw!

Make up wise Lorde doesn't really give you much to look at in awh. Her look usually consist of a very light coverage foundation with your occasional winged liner, accompanied by her usual bold dark berry and my favorite plum lipstick which gives her that extra oomph!

Initially I was quite surprised that mac decided to give her a lipstick  and I thought that I was going to pass on it but after receiving this lippie over the weekend I am happy to say that I didn't on this lipstick. I don't have anything in my collection to dupe it so its unique to me for the moment! I love the texture amps are definitely my summer fav you can never have to much moisture, and the color is build-able. Pure Heroine is double plus in my book I think I'll get a lot of use out of it this fall!

ConCave BOB

As some of you know I went to Cosmetology school almost a year ago. although I haven't really began to pro-sue my career in he hair industry I still love to experiment with my look using new hairstyles aside from wearing store bought wigs. I wanted to experiment with an older look that I use to wear a few years before I went to Cosmo School. When I was in high school one of my favorite styles was the Bob cut I loved how inexpensive and easy the look was at the time when I was creating that look I was using the Outre Premium Duby hair w/ Closures the look cost under twenty dollars along with the purchase of a sewing cap, needles and threads.

This time round I used a slightly different method for this look I used

LoTemp Glue Gun
Adjustable Strap Mesh
Velvet Remi Duby w/ Closure
    color #4
Model Model Pose Yaky Hair
     10 inches
     color #4

The only differences in the way I created this look is that I used the glue gun normally I would sew my human hair wigs which is what I recommend but I got lazy and decide to try the glue method that I've seen so many bloggers use in the past.

For the construction of this wig I basically used my remi bob hair for the back portion and added my longer hair into the front. After I finished constructing the wig I began to cut a normal medium stack bob w/ longer lengths.

Overall the process and cut came out really good I ran into my problems because of the manikin I used. I based everything to the shape of the manikin instead of customizing my wig to my head which is bigger. This caused my cut to be a high stack bob instead of medium/low which also made my length shorter than preferred and the wig was a little smaller than expected because of the glue gun constricted it. Although this wig was kind of a fail I managed work it out.

Next time around I know use a manikin that's more accurate to my head shape!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lavish Palette

I finally gave in purchased from ABH mainly because I finally got around to applying for my ABHpro discount 35% and free shipping can be very tempting.... So apparently everyone owns this lavish palette and it's overly raved about I passed on it initially but since it was released with only the shadows I decide to go ahead and take the plunge and buy it myself .  I own every naked and neutral palette under the sun so get this was just an impulse buy for me. When I first received the palette I was confused on how small the palette was it little fit in a bubble wrap envelope. The packing was a flimsy cardboard nothing fancy like my UD palette but I will say the plastic lavish slip was very graphic and cute. The colors in my opinion where just okay nothing mind blowing and extravagant I have colors similar to them in other palettes that have better quality. The shadows have descent pigmentation without a primer some are slightly chalky but overall the palette is just okay in my opinion if you own anything from UD then this palette isn't like a must have but it'll do great for traveling since it's so tiny you could easy throw it in your purse on the go looks. Overall I think that the lavish palette is simply okay and overly hyped but at the same time I do believe that it's worth $24.00 but nothing over that.

Shadow Colors:
Cream - matte light peach slighly chalky
Antique - Satin Taupe *
Rum Cake - Satin brass tan *
Moss - rich satin green
Truffle - satin warm chocolate brown *
Ballet - shimmer light pink
Orange Soda - matte light orange similar to (cream and ballet)
Sienna - matte highly pigmented red brown*
Pink Sapphire - satin burgundy
♡Black Diamond - Shimmery Dark Brown                                                                                                    (almost black) with golden reflex

Too Face Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue

Hands down this has to be the best primer I've tried since I've been doing make up. I've been using The Original Too Faced SI for a few years and I must say that Too Faced is my favorite cosmetic brand when it comes to primers. I started experimenting with glitter in my make up looks about a year ago but it always seemed to be such a hassle to apply glitter without getting fall out everywhere. I've used two different adhesive methods like the lash glue and the sally girl gel, but honestly none of those methods compare to just using the TFSI glitter glue. After only one use of this product I find myself literately swearing by it. Like it's sister primers this glitter glue retails for $20 which can be a little pricey for some but it's well worth it because a little goes a long way with Too Faced .  All you need is needle size amount for each eye apply your product everywhere you'll be adding your loose pigment or glitter and you're set. I applied my product with a large shadier brush and I swear The TFSI glitter glue just grabbed everything like a magnet in one even coat. To top things off I even fell asleep with my eyeshadow on and to my surprise my eyeshadow and glitter was still perfectly intact. I literately woke up with NO Smudging, or Creasing just a FLAWLESS Glittery cat eye!
